Eclipse Season 2021 Begins

It is May and we are just now approaching our first eclipse coming up on us May 26, 2021. Let the eclipse season begin. Not only will this be our first eclipse of 2021, it will the first total lunar eclipse we have had since January 2019. This moon will be considered a super moon due to the fact that it will be the closest (and therefore the biggest) full moon of the year. A total eclipse of the year's closest moon has not occurred since September 28, 2015. You can reflect back to these dates to see what themes are showing up again. Maybe you have come full circle with something from the past. 

Total Lunar Eclipse

What is a lunar eclipse? A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes perfectly in line between the Moon and the Sun. This casts a shadow that makes the Moon take on a darker, almost reddish hue. The May Full Moon is usually called the Flower Moon, but you may hear it called the Blood Moon or Blood Super Moon due to the closeness to us and it's red appearance. Needless to say, it will be intense! 

So who will be able to witness this beauty? It will be visible in Southeast Asia, Australia, most of Alaska and Canada, all the states, all of Mexico, and Central America. Refer here to get the times to see all the action. The actual eclipse will be at it's peak for 14 minutes and 30 seconds. You can see the before and after of it, in all it's beauty over the course of three hours, but that reddish hue will show up at the peak. Refer to this map to find out when you need to go outside. Even if you cannot have visibility to the peak, you will still have the chance to see the beautiful Super Moon shine brighter than usual. It will appear 7% larger and 15% brighter than all other full moons. How pretty!!

May 26, 2021 Full Moon Aspects

The Total Eclipse Full Moon will land in 5 degrees and 26 minutes of Sagittarius. Full Moons are a time of release and revelations, but with this eclipse added to it, what are we to expect? How will this affect us? 

Eclipses bring about change that may be explosive or exaggerated in some way. It can be very matter of fact! This eclipse in particular will have more of an affect on those born with personal planets at 0-10 degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). Check your charts to see where you stand on May 26th. You may have very intense feelings of things changing. But the good part is that it is time. That is why it is happening. Lunar eclipses can bring things to the surface that need to be addressed. It is a time for emotional cycles to end. We can safely let go of any attachments and emotions that no longer serve us. 

If this sounds scary, it is not. The Eclipses are kind of a catapult for what needs to happen. Maybe we are not always ready to do the work to move on and make a better path for ourselves, but the eclipse can set those things in motion for us. We can do several things to be prepared and understand what is happening. You can also use this time as a time to set up new goals and actions to following your dreams. 

1. Light candles the night of May 26th and be grateful for all you have 
2. Pray for your journey and your loved ones journey
3. Journaling can be the best way to say what you want and put it out into the Universe
4. Be aware of what is happening and accept the changes being given to you and release all that limits you

By doing these small acts, you can change your life for the better when you use the energy given to you with the Moon cycles. The eclipse is just a super extra bonus!

More Eclipses to Come in 2021

Eclipses usually come in pairs of 2 or 3. This Super Blood Moon we have coming up on May 26th will be followed by a partial Solar Eclipse on June 10, 2021. These are not the same, but will be related as far as the energy behind them goes. They are so close together that June will be a continuation of the Lunar eclipse on May 26th. Keep that same energy through June! These will be followed later in 2021 with another solar eclipse and another lunar eclipse. The effects can last months and even years so be ready for change that moves into your highest self!
